"Its in the Bag"

Season's Greetings Family, Friends and Faithful Followers,

I hope and pray everyone is enjoying this holiday season, thus far.  No one has over-eaten, have they??  LOL.  My hope for this holiday season was to finish the cards I started over 2 years ago; and actually get them in the mail.  Alas, that didn't happen.  :-(  I am excited about one project that I was able to complete for Christmas... a gift card holder... only I put actually put money in it!  The card is for my DM from the kids; and the purse or "bag" is from me to DM!  Can you say, "loved it"!!  LOL.

The "purse" is from a Silhouette cut file.
The card layout is courtesy of Mojo Monday #320.
Patterned Paper is from a DCWV Christmas mini stack.

As always, I appreciate you stopping by and visiting my little slice of crafty paradise!

Peace & Blessings!

It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas!

Hello Again,

Just stopping by to drop off a few cards that I made for a Vendor Showcase in MD last weekend.  I was there, as a first-time participant and full-time supporter of my craftin' sistah - Cassie!  I had a blast sharing this experience with her.  She did the darn thing - great cards, chargers, and great gifts.  I'm looking forward to attending many more of these events in 2014 and beyond!  My hope and desire is to take Taylor-Made Creations to greater dimensions; and this will be possible with the continued prayers, love, support, and butt-kicking encouragement from my family, friends, and faithful supporters!!  Thank you!

Layouts - Courtesy of MojoMonday sketches (2012 & 2013).

May this holiday season bring all of your prayers and heart's desires to fruition!  I truly thank God for all of you who have visited my blog, left blog love, and become followers!  I'm looking forward to doing greater things in 2014!  Will you join me??

Peace & Blessings,
Lisa

Better Late than Never!!

Hello there!!

I finally posted pics of the projects that I worked on/completed while away at a scrappin' retreat last month.  I was determined to finish the mini album for my DM's birthday.  I figured it was time for her to have a "homemade" brag book that she could use to show off her grandbabies (not really babies).  The Christmas card was made at the request of the hostess, who was asked to make card sets.  She asked us to use her supplies, so she could easily "re-create" the cards.  The birthday card is a card I made for my cousin - who was like a 2nd mom to me, growing up.

I'm slowly working to grow "outside of my crafting box"; but it is truly a S...L...O...W process!  LOL.  Thanks for visiting my little slice of crafting paradise.

Hugz,

Lisa

Challenge #38 - Anything Goes

Hello and Welcome to my slice of paradise!

I'd like to take this time to send a hearty "thank you" to my followers; and hugs of gratitude to my faithful visitors.  It's not easy keeping up with this hobby that I love so much; but who doesn't enjoy a good challenge?!  LOL.

613 Avenue Create is hosting an "Anything Goes" challenge this week; and our featured images have benn graciously provided by Rick St. Dennis and Sassy Studio Designs.  The twist to this challenge is for you to create your own color challenge - using 1 color from each color in the chart provided.  If you choose to accept the challenge, be sure to post your finished projects over at the Avenue!

For those who know me, you know I had to find a way to incorporate purple into my project!  LOL.  With that said, here's my project:

Steampunk Newbie!

Greetings Fellow Crafters and Curious Followers,

I have been struggling with keeping up with the craft that I love so much, given my life has now been consumed by football, cheering, football, and more football!  LOL.  Nonetheless, in an effort to keep my coloring skills (at least) thriving, I've joined the Sassy Studios group at PaperCraftingPlanet.  Each month we have the opportunity to participate in Progressive Challenges.  The most recent challenge was to complete a project using SSD's "Steampunk Amelia".  Now, I know nothing about "steampunk", so this was all foreign to me.

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery,[1] especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century.  Steampunk also refers to any of the artistic styles, clothing fashions, or subcultures, that have developed from the aesthetics of steampunk fiction, Victorian-era fiction, art nouveau design, and films from the mid-20th century.

Well, a third of the way through this project, I realized I didn't have any machinery embellies (TH has some good ones); so I had to improvise.  Here's the final project:

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to leave me some blog love, if you can.

Hap-BEE Birthday!

Greetings Crafty Family,

Can you believe the summer is practically over??  My kids have already returned to school!  Where has the time gone??  Ok - enough reflecting!  LOL.  A friend recently celebrated her birthday; so I decided to do something a little special for her.

Now, my disclaimer is that it's been a while since I last did any projects using vinyl; so my skills are a tad rusty.  LOL.  My friend's nick name is "Bee", so it made since to decorate a tumbler with a cute little bee.  Here are the final products of my weekend crafting:

Thank you for visiting.

Mojo hiatus may be over!!

Greetings and Happy Friday-eve!!

I believe my mojo took a vacation recently, and forgot to send me the memo!!  LOL.  I have had the hardest time sitting down to create something... anything!  No matter how hard I'd try, or how long I stared at my computer...NOTHING would happen.  I managed to finally complete a DT project, but that was like pulling teeth.

It is my hope that change is on the horizon; and I can get into a good creative flow!  With all that said, here are some items I've completed over the past couple of weeks.

As always, I thank you for visiting my little slice of crafty paradise, as you journey through the information super-highway (aka Internet)!

Father's Day

Greetings Family, Friends, and Crafty People,

I'm hoping everyone had a great weekend celebrating the special men in their lives.  In celebration of the special man in our house, the kids and I presented DH with a couple of cards and gifts, much to his surprise!  Now, don't laugh at the cards...especially the Heavy D card - LOL.  One of DH's favorite artists was Heavy D, so I rushed to buy the image from Robert Jackson's Gallery.  So, I've been waiting for the right time to use it... and no better time than Father's Day!!  The funny thing is that DH looks a little like Heavy D (minus the hi-top)...and he was wearing his purple suit when he opened the card!  Needless to say, FD started out with a big laugh!!

Challenge Winner in the House! Update

Happy Tuesday!

Just doing a quick celebratory post!  I won the Robert Jackson Friendship Challenge over at Scraps of Color!  Woo hoo!  My excitement is not focused on the prize, but at my project being chosen among the awesome projects that were submitted.  I am truly humbled by this experience...

The card that I submitted was a castle fold card; and I used the card fold tutorials provided at Beccy's Place.  Please be sure to stop by Beccy's blog, become a follower, and check out all of the great projects and tutorials she has for making cards.  I have always been a basic card maker - regular A2 or 5x7 cards; but Beccy's Place offers some awesome tutorials for making cards that are not so traditional.  Thanks, Beccy.  The image is a Robert Jackson digi - Girls Gone Wild, colored using my Copic MarkersThe paper is from DCWV - Basic Stack, Spring Card Stock, and Mariposa.

Now, here's the winning card... TFL!

TGIF and Happy Flag Day!!

Just wanted to post an update.  As a part of the RJ Friendship Challenge at SOC, we were supposed to send the card to a special friend.  Well, part of the challenge for me was that my friend is also a follower over at SOC.  So, what I did was modify the card slightly - maybe a little more than slightly, then mailed it to her.  Now that she's received it, I can post it.  LOL.  Here's the updated card.  TFL.

613 Avenue Create - Challenge #18

Greetings family, friends, fellow crafters and followers,

I apologize for this late post, but life is still happening; and I'm getting all caught up in it.  LOL!  With that being said, Mother's Day is quickly approaching; and a crafter's nemesis for this time of year is store-bought cards, gifts, etc.  Over in the neighborhood, this week's challenge is "anything goes', with the optional theme to create some kind of gift packaging - and with Mother's Day knocking at the door, this could come in handy!  So, join in the fun; and post your creations over at 613 Avenue Create!!

Here's a little inspiration...

First Rocker Card - It's a Boy!

Hello Crafty family and friends,

It's been a long week; but I was able to "squeeze" out a card for a co-worker.  Have you ever found yourself boxed into a particular style of card-making?  Well, I've determined that my style is usually CAS - clean and simple.  However, for this project, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something simple, but differnt.  I found a great website - Beccy's Place - that has instructions for all sorts of cards... as she puts it "from A to Z"!  LOL.  I also decided to use my Cameo to cut a rocking horse for the card.  The end result...

RJ 2013 Challenge #5 - Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Greetings Crafty People!

I apologize for the inactivity; but I'm working on getting better.  I thank you all for your patience.  :-)  Over the last year or so, I've become a big fan of Robert Jackson's digital images; and as a result, I periodically participate in the RJ challenges over at Scraps of Color.  Last week's challenge was to make a crafty item (card, LO, etc) using a RJ shoe digi, and a bow or buckle.  Well, here is my entry, that I've deemed appropriate for a masculine "Get Well" card.  LOL.  TFL.

I did not write down all of the ingredients for the card recipe, but from what I can remember:

Patterned Paper:  DCWV Basic Stack
Cardstock:  Recollections (brown), blue was from my stash/scraps
Copics:  B41, B45, B000, E47, G07, Y15, YR14

Bye-Bye February

Hello Everyone in Crafty Land,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I was just sharing with a co-worker that February literally blew past us; and here we are...in March, already!!!  I made a quick birthday card this weekend, for a friend who celebrated her special day last weekend.  I told her that this card is technically not a "belated" card, b/c I informed her on her birthday that I was putting the final, homemade touches on it!  LOL.  She agreed...

Here's a peek at the card.  TFL.

613 Avenue Create - Challenge #8

Hello friends and family,

613 Avenue Create is hosting another challenge this week, and the theme is "Anything Goes".  The twist to this challenge is to "Pile it On" (opposite of CAS - clean and simple, LOL!)

This week, the design team used images from one of our sponsors, Bugaboo Stamps, to help give you some inspiration.  Please be sure to visit our neighborhood, and drop off your projects by Saturday, March 2 @ 8:00 pm (EST)!

Here's my take on the challenge (Note:  this card is not for "sensitive" folks!)

First Tri-fold Shutter Card

Greetings Crafty People,

Many times when I make cards, I find that my style is typically CAS - clean and simple.  Well, in honor of DH's birthday, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try a tri-fold shutter card.  Let me just say... OMG!!!  Making this card was trying, but determination prevailed!!  Below is the end result of all of my perseverance...

Recipe:  I used the print and cut feature on the Silhouette Cameo.  Digi is from Kenny K, colored with Copics.  Purple paper is from DCWV, and decorative "Silver Swirl on White" paper (Paper Company, purchased at M's).  TFL.
