RJ 2013 Challenge #5 - Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Greetings Crafty People!

I apologize for the inactivity; but I'm working on getting better.  I thank you all for your patience.  :-)  Over the last year or so, I've become a big fan of Robert Jackson's digital images; and as a result, I periodically participate in the RJ challenges over at Scraps of Color.  Last week's challenge was to make a crafty item (card, LO, etc) using a RJ shoe digi, and a bow or buckle.  Well, here is my entry, that I've deemed appropriate for a masculine "Get Well" card.  LOL.  TFL.

I did not write down all of the ingredients for the card recipe, but from what I can remember:

Patterned Paper:  DCWV Basic Stack
Cardstock:  Recollections (brown), blue was from my stash/scraps
Copics:  B41, B45, B000, E47, G07, Y15, YR14
MS Corner punch

Bye-Bye February

Hello Everyone in Crafty Land,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I was just sharing with a co-worker that February literally blew past us; and here we are...in March, already!!!  I made a quick birthday card this weekend, for a friend who celebrated her special day last weekend.  I told her that this card is technically not a "belated" card, b/c I informed her on her birthday that I was putting the final, homemade touches on it!  LOL.  She agreed...

Here's a peek at the card.  TFL.

Paper:  DCWV Mariposa (PP); DCWV Fall card stock, embossed with Cuttlebug "Swirls"
Die cut:  Spellbinders (book)
Bling:  Recollections
Copics:  R27, R29, YR 15; R89 (eye shadow and lipstick)

613 Avenue Create - Challenge #8

Hello friends and family,

613 Avenue Create is hosting another challenge this week, and the theme is "Anything Goes".  The twist to this challenge is to "Pile it On" (opposite of CAS - clean and simple, LOL!)

This week, the design team used images from one of our sponsors, Bugaboo Stamps, to help give you some inspiration.  Please be sure to visit our neighborhood, and drop off your projects by Saturday, March 2 @ 8:00 pm (EST)!

Here's my take on the challenge (Note:  this card is not for "sensitive" folks!)

First Tri-fold Shutter Card

Greetings Crafty People,

Many times when I make cards, I find that my style is typically CAS - clean and simple.  Well, in honor of DH's birthday, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try a tri-fold shutter card.  Let me just say... OMG!!!  Making this card was trying, but determination prevailed!!  Below is the end result of all of my perseverance...

Recipe:  I used the print and cut feature on the Silhouette Cameo.  Digi is from Kenny K, colored with Copics.  Purple paper is from DCWV, and decorative "Silver Swirl on White" paper (Paper Company, purchased at M's).  TFL.

613 Avenue Create - Challenge #6

Greetings Friends and Family,

It's been about a month since my last post.  I am still in recovery mode, but, more and more, I am able to get back into the craft that I love so much!

There has also been some transition in the Design Team world... Jackson's Digital Expressions DT has moved to a new neighborhood... 613 Avenue Create!  Please join us in this week's sketch challenge, which is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps!  Be sure to visit the neighborhood for some inspiration, and to post your creations in the neighborhood @ 613 Avenue Create.  TFL.

Happy 2013!!

Greetings in this New and Prosperous Year!

I pray that all is well with you; and that your creativity (and mine) takes off in greater dimensions this year!  Although I am still "recovering and recuperating", I've slowly started crafting again.  I found that the recovery sofa is a great place to color digis, don't ya think?!  LOL.  To kick off the New Year, the Robert Jackson digi group over at Scraps of Color (SOC) hosted a challenge using a RJ image and inspirational/uplifting sentiment.  Here's my entry...RJ 2013 #1 -"Fear of the Lord".

Holiday Recovery

Season's Greetings Family and Friends,

I apologize for the long absence, but I have recently undergone surgery, and am in the recovery process.  Though progress is slow, there is steady improvement with each day.  I pray that everyone is having a joyous and blessed time with family; and, as time permits, getting the chance to do some fun crafty things!  I am limited in my access to the computer right now, so my posts may be staggered over several days.

Here's a glimpse of how I've been spending the holiday:

As we approach the New Year, I am grateful for all that I have experienced in 2012; and am looking forward to 2013 with great and holy expectation!!

Wishing each of you a prosperous New Year!
