613 Avenue Create - Challenge #18

Greetings family, friends, fellow crafters and followers,

I apologize for this late post, but life is still happening; and I'm getting all caught up in it.  LOL!  With that being said, Mother's Day is quickly approaching; and a crafter's nemesis for this time of year is store-bought cards, gifts, etc.  Over in the neighborhood, this week's challenge is "anything goes', with the optional theme to create some kind of gift packaging - and with Mother's Day knocking at the door, this could come in handy!  So, join in the fun; and post your creations over at 613 Avenue Create!!

Here's a little inspiration...

First Rocker Card - It's a Boy!

Hello Crafty family and friends,

It's been a long week; but I was able to "squeeze" out a card for a co-worker.  Have you ever found yourself boxed into a particular style of card-making?  Well, I've determined that my style is usually CAS - clean and simple.  However, for this project, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something simple, but differnt.  I found a great website - Beccy's Place - that has instructions for all sorts of cards... as she puts it "from A to Z"!  LOL.  I also decided to use my Cameo to cut a rocking horse for the card.  The end result...

Patterned Paper - Cloud 9 Design
Rocking Horse - Silhouette Cut
Label - Nestabilities Labels 18

Good morning and Happy Spring!

I hope everyone is enjoying the spring - new blooms, sunshine, and even a little rain.  In celebration of the new season, 613 Avenue Create is hosting a "Spring Fever" challenge.  The challeng this week is for you to create something - anything that makes you think of Spring (gardening, kites, bikes, sun, clouds, rain, etc).   The sponsor for this week's challenge is Rick St. Dennis (you can read more about him at the Avenue).  Once your project is completed, be sure to post/link your creation at the Avenue.  Can't wait to see what you create.  Here's a little inspiration:

RJ 2013 Challenge #5 - Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Greetings Crafty People!

I apologize for the inactivity; but I'm working on getting better.  I thank you all for your patience.  :-)  Over the last year or so, I've become a big fan of Robert Jackson's digital images; and as a result, I periodically participate in the RJ challenges over at Scraps of Color.  Last week's challenge was to make a crafty item (card, LO, etc) using a RJ shoe digi, and a bow or buckle.  Well, here is my entry, that I've deemed appropriate for a masculine "Get Well" card.  LOL.  TFL.

I did not write down all of the ingredients for the card recipe, but from what I can remember:

Patterned Paper:  DCWV Basic Stack
Cardstock:  Recollections (brown), blue was from my stash/scraps
Copics:  B41, B45, B000, E47, G07, Y15, YR14
MS Corner punch

Bye-Bye February

Hello Everyone in Crafty Land,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I was just sharing with a co-worker that February literally blew past us; and here we are...in March, already!!!  I made a quick birthday card this weekend, for a friend who celebrated her special day last weekend.  I told her that this card is technically not a "belated" card, b/c I informed her on her birthday that I was putting the final, homemade touches on it!  LOL.  She agreed...

Here's a peek at the card.  TFL.
